At the trad climbing clinic, we will teach the knowledge and skills required to lead traditionally protected routes.
We will begin our day discussing passive and active protection, rock assessment, and natural anchors before heading to the rock to climb.
At the crag, we will set top-ropes on routes from 5.8-5.10 to provide the opportunity to mock-lead trad routes, allowing a safe space to practice placing gear. Throughout the day the guides will follow climbs to check gear placements and provide advice on how to improve the protection.
We will also have materials to practice building natural anchors, providing further opportunities to become familiar with gear and prepare you for leading trad.
Clinic Cost: $125 (All Climbing Gear Included)
Climber Requirements: Ability to safely top-rope belay and ability to safely tie your figure eight follow-through. Bring whatever gear you have!
