WHETHER YOU ARE BRAND NEW TO ROCK CLIMBING OR HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, OUR ROCK CLIMBING AND YOGA RETREAT IS AN INCREDIBLY LIFE GIVING EXPERIENCE. AFTER THREE SEASONS OF HOSTING THESE EVENTS WE HAVE WITNESSED THE BARRIERS THAT CAN BE BROKEN AND THE COMMUNITY THAT CAN BE FORMED IN THE PRESENCE OF INCREDIBLE WOMEN. THE ONLY THING WE EXPECT IS THAT YOU SHOW UP.

climbing 

Guiding will be available for a wide variety of skill levels, taught by AMGA SPI instructor Katie Paulson. Our group will be split up depending on experience.

  • Intro instruction designed for those who have never climbed before

  • Intermediate instruction for climbers wanting to climb in the 5.6-5.9 range (best for those who have never climbed outside)

  • Advanced for climbers wanting to join our guides to climb routes 5.10-5.11a/b

All climbing gear will be provided by Black Diamond.

Yoga 

Yoga will be offered twice daily by our very own Katie Paulson.  Katie has been practicing yoga for 12 years. In 2015 she went to Costa Rica to take a 200 hour instructor course and has been teaching off and on ever since. Her favorite style is creative vinyasa flow with some power thrown in for good measure. She loves doing yoga outside, and exploring lighthearted movement in any way possible.

Katie Paulson

Katie joined She Moves Mountains last season after years of climbing all over the United States. With a resume that boasts climbs ten years back, she has more experience than anyone else on the team. An all around athlete, Katie can be found casually jogging twenty plus miles, free soloing up Castle Rock, climbing 5.12 cracks, or playing with her dog Mo. A quieter soul she loves climbing for the therapeutic aspects and enjoys the mental challenge of working through fears.

MEALS

Healthy eating is imperative to a healthy life and at our retreat we make it a priority to provide the best tasting food with the highest quality of ingredients.

Over the weekend our chef Tory will cook breakfast and dinner, providing alternatives for anyone with dietary restrictions.

And dessert. We firmly believe that dessert is essential to a happy life.

DETAILS

What is included:

  • Three 6 hour climbing sessions with AMGA Single Pitch Instructors at Mt. Erie (All gear provided)

  • Morning and afternoon yoga classes with Katie Paulson

  • 3 breakfasts, 2 dinners, and campfire snacks

  • 3 nights accommodation at the Slug Ranch

  • Transportation during the retreat

  • Bellingham airport pickup - we will be offering a 2pm and 5pm pickup.

What is not included: 

  • Transportation to Washington

  • Lunches

  • Gratuities to guides

  • Travel insurance: we will host this retreat rain or shine. If the weather is poor we will choose alternative activities.
