"After taking the trad climbing clinic I felt much more comfortable with placing gear, and that I had the skills to start practicing leading trad outside. The feedback given to me and the other students during mock leads taught me a lot about how to place gear but when to place gear and how to set your rack up before a climb. Their clinic and training sparked the beginning of what has become an amazing adventure of pushing grades, from the 5.7 climbs we had mock lead at the clinic, to finally just a year later tackling the famous Scarface 11b crack at Indian Creek. I'm super grateful for their inspiration and coaching."
"As a participant in one of Carey and Lizzy's first trad climbing clinics, I found both of them to be incredibly knowledgeable and patient instructors. I came into the clinic with 5+ years of sport climbing experience, but pretty minimal trad experience. My hope going into the clinic was to gain a deeper understanding of trad climbing, specifically technique and gear placement. My expectations were far exceeded as I learned all I hoped to, plus gaining confidence to move forward with trad climbing. And, nothing can beat the empowering all women's climbing crew! All climbers would benefit from participating in one of Lizzy and Carey's clinics."
"When I found out about this clinic I knew I had to sign up. I'm a solid sport climber, also Trad leader but lacked the crack climbing technique. There were so many fun girls and we each had different levels and skills, but we all learned tons and climbed some fun and difficult routes. Lizzy and Carey really took their time to show me the technique I've been missing. I felt way more confident and can't wait to go again."
"I was able to find out about my first trip with Lizzy and Carey during a really rough time in my life. It did just what I had dreamed - this day empowered me, brought confidence, and increased my technical climbing knowledge. Lizzy and Carey did such an amazing job at guiding us while also allowing time for a community of women to encourage and empower each other! Girl climbers rock!"
