Jessica Olson (JO)

Traveling has always held a special place in Jo’s heart, after embarking on an 8 month trip around the world in 2013, she nestled back to San Diego, getting a job at Mesa Rim, the local climbing gym, developing her skills as a Rock Climbing Instructor and Coach while spending all of her spare time out exploring the local California Granite. When she received her SPI in 2016, she was ready for a new change of scenery and to pursue the life as a guide. Shortly after, she converted her RAV4 into a mobile living space, and at the beginning of 2017, took off on a road trip spending several months traveling around the western states, with the destination of Alaska for a summer of guiding Rock and Ice Climbing. She returned to the lower 48 when the weather turned to winter and the following season started guiding with She Moves Mountains.

Climbing has always given her the sense of purpose, a power of focus in following a passion that is so much bigger than herself. Showing others the importance of this, while leading the way to self discovery and growth is a huge part to why she loves being a guide.
